For the corseted element of my ‘Design for Moving Image’ project based upon ‘Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind’, I wanted to explore a naturalistic texture, mimicking the form of mushroom gills by experimenting with fraying and slashing. Integrating this free-flowing organic movement with the protective ‘armoured’ structure of the corset.
